Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissues of the body and the fascia that covers the body. Yin Yoga (Daoist Yoga) helps regulate the flow of energy in the body, the Chi Flow.
Yin Yoga postures are mainly on the floor and are more passive. You relax in the postures, soften the muscles and move closer to the bone. Yin offers a much deeper access to the body. Yin Yoga postures are held for three to five minutes. The time spent in these postures is much like time spent in meditation.
