I'm a certified 200 hr RYT Yin Yoga Instructor through Yinspiration. I completed my training in Bali, Indonesia at the Yoga Barn in Ubud. My wonderful, inspiring teachers were Jo Phee and Joe Barnett who work with Paul and Suzee Grilley, the co-founders of Yin Yoga. My training lead me through an amazing spiritual and physical experience, where I felt entirely transformed!
My Prenatal Training I completed in Toronto through East to West Yoga and Pilates Studio in Toronto, Ontario.
I operate my own Yin Yoga Studio in Ancaster, Ontario since January 2014. There I offer a variety of Yin Yoga classes, Yin/Yang Flow classes, Yin for Men, Meditation Classes, Yin and Yoga Therapy, Karma Classes, Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga and treatment of Health Issues, etc. I also offer monthly workshops on weekends to address specific topics, ie. Insomnia and how to overcome it with Yin Yoga, Meditation and Breath work or Anxiety, Depression to overcome with Alternative Therapies.
In addition I am a Social Worker, RSW and have been working in the health care system for a large number of years. There I assisted people through counselling with adjustment to illness, coping with life changes, anxiety, depression, mental health issues, chronic disabilities and palliative issues.
I have a strong commitment to social justice, fairness, equality for everybody and contribute to social agencies on an ongoing weekly basis through karma classes, which are by donation only. It is my strong belief, that yoga should be accessible for everybody to achieve inner balance, stillness, mindfulness and relaxation.
I am also teaching Yin Yoga at various gyms in the Hamilton/Ancaster area on a weekly basis.
Yin Yoga Studio is designed to accommodate smaller classroom learning and to create an intimate atmosphere within yourself. You will feel comfortable with just up to 7 ppl in the room and you will receive assistance with your physical alignment and adjustments to get the most out of every Yin Pose. The teacher will pay special attention to you in this smaller class setting.
A number of classes are available throughout the day, evening and on weekends to accommodate your individual need for Yin Yoga. Every effort is made to integrate you in the right class and to meet your time requirements.
You can also book a class with your friends or co-workers to come together on a regular basis, if you wish to.
Or you can arrange an event for a special occasion, i.e a Meditation for someone sick or in need, a celebration of the upcoming arrival of a child through meditation and a specially designed Yin Yoga Class for the new mom to be and her family and friends.
If you suffer from stress, anxiety, depression, sleep disorder, etc. you can book a special class just for you. Healing and calming poses will be implemented to overcome these stress factors in your life. Yin Yoga is a very meditative and relaxing form of yoga. You will definitely benefit from the outcome of these classes, which will end with a guided relaxation.
Workshops and Special Events at the Studio will be announced every month and will run frequently throughout the year.
